Let’s dive in 🏊
Gauge-based
Mode launches novel L2 governance model
Mode, an AIFi-focused L2 built on the OP Superchain, has introduced a modernized vote escrow (ve) and gauge-based governance model. The governance system, built on Aragon OSx, features several innovative elements:
Support for staking multiple tokens (MODE and BPT) in a single position
Exponential increase in voting power over time (up to 6x in six epochs)
No long-term locking requirement, with short warm-up and cool-down periods
Gauge-based system for directing rewards to protocols rather than liquidity pools
$OP rewards for governance participation
A dedicated Governance Hub provides a centralized interface for all governance activities, including staking, voting, and claiming rewards. The system is designed to be adaptable, with plans to iterate and adjust incentives for each season based on community feedback and market dynamics.
Ignite
ZKsync introduces Ignite Program to promote DeFi growth
ZKsync has unveiled the Ignite Program, a 9-month initiative designed to establish a DeFi liquidity hub on ZKsync Era. The program will allocate 325M ZK tokens, with 300M for user incentives and 25M for administration and unforeseen costs. Key aspects of the program include:
Bi-weekly token allocations to specific pools/assets in participating DeFi protocols
A 5-member DeFi Steering Committee (DSC) for oversight
OpenBlock Labs serving as the analytics manager
A dedicated website for users to view incentivized pools and claim rewards
The program aims to increase DeFi TVL and improve liquidity across interoperable ZK Chains. Participating DeFi protocols must meet specific requirements, including completing KYC and having a minimum $1M DeFi TVL.
Dolce Vita
ACI proposes extension of Dolce Vita at Aave DAO
The Aave Chan Initiative has proposed extending Dolce Vita services to include management of Snapshot and Discourse platforms for Aave DAO. The proposal aims to formalize ACI's role as the primary admin for both platforms, with no additional budget requested. Key aspects of the proposal include:
Transferring Snapshot management to the AaveDAO.eth ENS domain
Appointing ACI as the primary Snapshot administrator
Setting the proposition power threshold for non-authors at 80k AAVE
Recognizing ACI as the official Discourse forum administrator
Appointing EzR3aL as the lead moderator for the forum
The proposal has received mixed feedback, with some community members suggesting additional active admins as a backup and questioning the high proposition power threshold.

Proposal Tracker™️
💬 DISCUSSION | Compound - Approve Chronicle Price Feeds for use within Compound
Summary: This proposal aims to approve the use of Chronicle Oracles to secure assets on Compound Finance. The proposal highlights Chronicle's 7-year history, security, decentralization, transparency, and verifiability. It secures over $11.2B in TVL and is compatible with Compound's existing Oracle adaptor.
💬 DISCUSSION | Balancer - Balancer to act as a Technical Delegate in the Polygon Governance System
Summary: This proposal seeks to have Balancer become a delegate in Polygon's new governance system. The proposal outlines Balancer's potential roles in voting on PIPs, maintaining accountability, and engaging with the Polygon community. Upon approval, the Balancer Foundation would create a delegation profile and act as a liaison between relevant parties.
💬 DISCUSSION | Arbitrum - Arbitrum Token Swap Pilot Program
Summary: This proposal introduces an Arbitrum Token Swap Pilot Program to enhance ecosystem alignment and gain insights into value-creation strategies. The program will allocate up to 2M ARB for 3-7 token swaps with mature Arbitrum protocols, capped at 0.5M ARB per project. Eligible projects must have retained at least 50% of their initial ARB airdrop and participated in previous incentive programs. The initiative aims to foster bi-directional alignment, inform future ecosystem development strategies, and incentivize protocol loyalty to Arbitrum.
From the Lab
Add USDS Market on Compound Mainnet
We’ve proposed adding a USDS market to Compound V3 on Ethereum Mainnet. Our proposal aims to support Sky by listing USDS, an upgraded version of DAI to Compound. This would benefit Compound markets and their users from a competitive Sky Savings Rate.
