Committees & Councils
SafeDAO discusses introducing Steering Committees and Council Structures
This week, the Safe Ecosystem Foundation introduced a proposal to evolve the existing OBRA framework by introducing new organizational structures: Steering Committees and Councils. This initiative aims to address challenges identified in the current system, such as lack of context, unclear effectiveness of funding, and low community participation.
The proposal outlines two types of high-context groups:
Steering Committees (SC): Comprised of 3-5 trusted members with high context and expertise, providing strategic guidance for SafeDAO.
Councils: Consisting of 3-5 highly engaged individuals with domain expertise, executing strategies by proposing and managing initiatives.
Initially, two Steering Committees are proposed:
Strategy Steering Committee: Driving SafeDAO's strategic direction
Treasury Management Steering Committee: Developing treasury goals and objectives
Additionally, two initial strategies with corresponding Councils are suggested:
Community Development: Fostering a vibrant ecosystem
Governance and DAO Operations: Improving participation and governance processes
If ratified, this proposal will replace current OBRA strategies, budgets, and payout terms, although ongoing funded initiatives will not be affected. The proposal encourages community feedback and discussion to help shape this next chapter of SafeDAO.
